The large paperweights have a diameter of 85 mm - the small 65 mm.
Open Spear Thistle
The spear thistle has the sharpest and largest spines of all thistles. It is a biennial plant. The root and leaf rosette form in the first year and the flowers and fruits develop in the second year.
